Check Basic Settings
Open Settings > Personalization > Lock screen
Ensure screensaver is enabled and timeout period is set
Verify "On resume, display logon screen" isn't interfering
Update Graphics Drivers
Right-click Start > Device Manager
Expand "Display adapters" and update drivers
Restart your PC after updating
Power Plan Adjustments
Search for "Edit power plan" in Start menu
Set both battery/plugged-in timeout values longer than screensaver timer
Registry Fix (Advanced)
Press Win+R, type regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Modify these values:
ScreenSaveActive = 1
ScreenSaveTimeOut = 60 (seconds)
Alternative Solutions
Run sfc /scannow in Command Prompt (Admin)
Create new user account to test profile corruption
Check for conflicting third-party apps (especially display utilities)
For corporate devices, contact IT as group policies may override settings.
